Accreditation and Certificates
What is ISO 17025?
ISO 17025 is an international standard for assessing the competence of calibration laboratories. It establishes the general competence requirements to carry out tests and / or calibrations, including sampling.
It includes parts of ISO 9001 regarding organization and management which includes, among others:
- Quality manual;
- Continuous improvement;
- Corrective and preventive actions;
- Document control ...
In addition, ISO 17025 includes more stringent requirements on several technical factors, including those relating to the calibration of laboratory equipment such as:
- Test and calibration methods and method validation;
- Estimation of uncertainty measurement;
- Measurement traceability...
In short, when a laboratory meets the requirements of ISO 17025, it therefore complies with both the technical and quality management requirements.
The advantage of ISO 17025 accreditation
Laboratory accreditation provides formal recognition of competent laboratories, thus offering customers a mean to identify and select reliable measurement and calibration services.
The accreditation provides a guarantee of the following:
- Technical competence of our staff
- Validity and appropriateness of calibration methods
- Traceability of measurements and calibrations to national standards
- Testing and calibration environment
- Shipping and handling of items submitted for calibration
- Quality assurance of test and calibration data
Moreover, this allows us to present our services to companies that require independently verified laboratories.
Laboratory accreditation is highly regarded as a reliable indicator of technical competency both nationally and internationally.
